CAIRO - 18 February 2019: Turki Al-Sheikh, chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Entertainment in Saudi Arabia, signed several agreements to strengthen the entertainment sector in the kingdom through holding plays, film screenings and concerts.

Sheikh signed a contract with Cairo 21 for artistic and theater production represented by director Magdi el-Hawari to present six performances of the theatrical show "King Lear" starring veteran actors Yehia el-Fakharany and Farouk el-Fishawy. The play will stage in different regions in the kingdom.

In addition, Sheikh signed a contract with Al-Adl Group represented in producer Gamal al-Adl to present six performances for families. The performances will star Sherihan, who returned to theater after an 18-year hiatus, as part of the Riyadh Festival that will be held in October and November 2019 in Jeddah and in June and July 2020.

Furthermore, Cairo 21 for artistic and theater production signed a contract with famed actor Mohamed Henedi to stage six performances of the play "3 days in the coast" in different parts of the kingdom to be selected by the General Authority for Entertainment in KSA. The shows will be held in March.

Also, famed actor Ashraf Abdel Baki signed a contract to present four performances of “Masrah Masr” that was held in 2018 and four additional performances of the play “Garimah fel Maadi” in several regions in the kingdom.

Star Mohamed Saad had also been signed to stage several performances across the kingdom.

Moreover, Sheikh signed a memorandum of understanding with True Motion Media Production represented by producer Rami Imam, where it was agreed that there would be a special appearance by veteran actor Adel Imam as a guest of honor in an artistic work produced by the company.

A memorandum of understanding was also signed with the United Group Company represented by Hisham Abdel Khalek to screen a selection of films and organize “outdoor” ceremonies attended by the films’ stars.

Al-Sabah Group represented by Sadek al-Sabah signed a memorandum of understanding with Sheikh to produce several films to premiere in KSA with the participation of Egyptian, Arab and Saudi artists.

Writers Amir Taima and Ayman Bahgat Kamar were also contracted to write scenarios of different plays to stage in KSA to revive the national heritage.

Sheikh signed memoranda of understanding with famed singers Hani Shaker, Amr Diab and Mohamed Hamaki to perform concerts in different regions across the kingdom.

A memorandum of understanding was signed with producer Mohsen Gaber as a representative of Stars Productions, where the General Authority for Entertainment in KSA will produce theatrical plays about late legendary Egyptian singers Umm Kulthum, Mohamed Abdel Wahab and Abdel Halim Hafez.

In addition, Walid Mansour has signed an agreement to get Hakim, Oka, Ortega, Hamada Helal, Ahmed Sheba, Adaweya, Saad el-Sagheer, Mostafa Hagag, Mahmoud el-Leithy, Diab and Abdel Baset Hamouda to perform in Shaabiyat Festival - Layaly El Mahrousa.

It is worth noting that Sheikh signed the agreements in Cairo a day after he signed a set of other agreements in London, aiming at hosting international events in Great Britain, as part of the Entertainment Authority in KSA's plan.
