CAIRO – 19 December 2018: Umm Kulthum Museum, managed by the Cultural Development Fund, will hold the "Kalthoumiyat" concert, led by Maestro Amr Abdel Moneim, on the occasion of the birth of the star of the Orient; Umm Kulthum.

The concert is set to take place in the Manasterly Palace on Dec. 20 at 7 p.m.

The concert’s program consists of numerous of the late singer’s special songs, such as; “Enta Omry” (You are my life), “Daret el-Ayam” (The days go on), and “Hob aih” (What love?) among others.

A solo violin performance for "Arouh Lemin" (Who can I turn to?) and "Ya Sabah El- Kheir" (Good Morning) will be performed by Marwa Amr.

Umm Kulthum was a renowned Egyptian singer and actress from the 1920s to the 1970s. She was given the honorific title “Kawkab Al-Sharq” (Star of the Orient).

Umm Kulthum was known for her extraordinary vocal ability and style, as well as for being one of the greatest and most influential singers of the 20th century. She sold over 80 million records worldwide.

The late singer is considered a national icon in Egypt and has been dubbed as the voice of Egypt and Egypt's fourth pyramid. She is still one of the most revered singers in Egypt and the entire Arab world.
