Ahmed Magdy's 'La Ahad Hona' to screen in Cairo Opera House

CAIRO – 26 November 2018: Actor/director Ahmed Magdy expressed during a seminar organized for the film "La AhadHona" (No one here) on the sidelines of Cairo International Film Festival's 40th edition that he relied on natural lightinginfilming the movie.

Magdy further expressed that he intended to create calm attire for the film, which hasbeen divided into five parts. "The film took several years to be written and ready for release," said the young actor, writer and director.

"It is a great honor that the film will screen in the Grand Theatre of Cairo Opera House,"continuedMagdy.

It is worth noting that the film "La AhadHona"is expected to participate in numerous international film festivals around the world.

Magdy, born in 1986, is an Egyptian-Algerian actor and director.His first film was the independent six-minute 2007 documentary "Magra al-Seil" (Riverbed). He then took part in a workshop entitled "al-Zattwa al-Madina – al-Qahira" (The Self and the City - Cairo) which was produced by the European Union and al-Sammat production company and involved the production of a documentary called "Zeezo".

After joining the Cairo Jesuit Cinema School, he directed three low budget short titles. His graduation project, "KeikaSagheera" (Small Cake), received an award from the judging committee at the Algeria Independent Cinema Festival.

Magdy has taken part in more than 30 independent works. He has directed "Illa al-Bahr" (To the Sea), which was produced by the Forced Migration and Refugee Studies department at the American University in Cairo. He has also acted in "Asafeer al-Neel" (Birds of the Nile) which is an adaptation ofrenowned writer Ibrahim Aslan's novel.
