CAIRO, Aug 27 (MENA) - Minister of Culture Enas Abdel Dayem on Monday said her ministry seeks to encourage creativity and maintain the Egyptian identity through establishing a supreme committee for organizing festivals.

The minister's statement came during a meeting with the new members of the committee at the Supreme Council Of Culture.

The committee seeks to promote sustainable economic and social development, encourage cultural exchange on the national and global levels and achieve cultural equality by adopting a clear agenda for every festival organized or patronized the government, Abdel Dayem said.

During the meeting, the committee agreed to set out specific mechanisms for festival organizing, which includes constituting specialized committees in several areas of culture and art.

The committee also included representatives from the cabinet's General Secretariat, ministries of interior, foreign affairs, tourism, antiquities, civil aviation and local development as well as heads of arts and literary syndicates.
