Theatres achieve unprecedented profits during Al-Adha holiday

CAIRO – 25 August 2018: National Theatres in Cairo and several other provinces were packed throughout the entirety of Eid Al-Adha vacations (Muslim celebrations), as the Ministry of Culture managed to gather Egyptians during their special celebrations around unique, national theatrical shows that achieved unprecedented profits.

Such profits reflect the high demand from locals to watch the numerous special shows that were performed on national theatres all over Egypt especially for Al-Adha vacation.

Head of the Theatre Art House, artist Ismail Mokhtar, stated that the shows held during the vacation were in high demand. The shows were as follows:

• “Hay Ala Baladna” - Attaba National Theatre
• “Hadath Fe Belad El Sa’ada” (Happened in the Land of Happiness) - Al Salam Theatre
• “Al Hadetha” (The Incident) - Balloon Theatre
• “Youm Mo’tadel Gedan” (Very Moderate Day) - King Theatre in Ramsis
• “Yabka el Amr Mo’alakan” (Until Further Notice)

Numerous other shows were organized in other areas such as the clown and folklore shows held in the International Gardens in Nasr City. Such shows were especially tailored for families and children.

Head of the Art House for folk and theatrical arts, Dr. Adel Abdo, stated that the show “Alice Fe Belad El Aga’eb” (Alice in Wonderland) performed in El Balloon Theatre, gained over LE 48,000 by Al-Adha’s third day.

The National Circuses in Agouza District, May 15, and Gamasa City witnessed very high demand as well.
