CAIRO - 22 May 2017: "The Guest: Aleppo – Istanbul" starred and produced by Jordanian actress Saba Mubarak, will be screened in Cannes Film Festival. The movie’s story is about eight-year old Syrian girl, Lena, who has lost her family members in the Syrian war.

Consequently, Lena takes her toddler sister and goes with their neighbor Mariam, along with others, to seek refuge in Turkey. Throughout the movie, Lena is homesick and wants to get back to her home, while Mariam looks forward to go to Europe.

The movie tackles the problems faced by Syrian refugees in Turkey as well as other countries.

The Guest is written and directed by Turkish Andac Haznedaroglu. And except for Saba Mubarak, the rest of the crew are real Syrian refugees who were acting for the first time in their lives.
