CAIRO - 15 May 2017: The Sound of Egypt Orchestra, conducted by its founder Ahmed Atef, performs at Cairo Opera House on May 24, with the guest of honor, flutist Inès Abdel DaÏm.

The “Black & White” concert witnesses famous selections from classic Arabic movies as “Moutarada Gharamia” (A Romantic Pursuit), starring Foad el-Mohandes, “Amir el-Intqam” (based on the story of The Count of Monte Cristo) for the renowned Egyptian actor Anwar Wagdi, “Ismail Yassin Fi Mostashfa al-Maganin”(Ismail Yassin in a Psychiatric Hospital) and “El-Hafid” (The Grandchild.)

The Sound of Egypt Orchestra was founded in 2013 by musicians from the Cairo Symphony and Cairo Opera Orchestras and members of the Arabic Music Choir and Ensemble. They perform live, playing a variety of Egyptian movies’ and TV series’ original soundtracks.
