CAIRO – 29 May 2018: Egyptian actresses Heba Abdel Ghany and Mona Abdel Ghany were harassed for wearing the veil while filming their TV series “Fouq El-Sahab” in Budapest, Hungary.

A video, posted on the official Facebook page of the TV series “Fouq El-Sahab” (Over the Cloud), showed both actresses while describing what really happened.

They said that a man approached them and pointed to their veils and started shouting and fighting with the crew members while filming a scene in a park.

Heba and Mona replied to the man and said that wearing a veil (Hijab) is a freedom of choice, and asked a crew member who could speak Hungarian to tell the man that they would call the police if he continued harassing them.

Heba, who does not really wear the veil, was deeply touched by the incident, saying “First world countries ... I accept to see two men kissing in the street and I’m forced to respect their freedom but he doesn’t respect that I’m doing my job and that I’m veiled.
I’m not veiled in real life, but now I consider myself veiled.”

Starring Hany Salama, Stephanie Saleeba and Ibrahim Nasr, this series revolves around a poor young man who falls in love with a girl but is unable to marry her due to his tough financial circumstances. He travels abroad to look for a job and comes back totally changed into a wicked person.
