In photos: Stitch Like an Egyptian in London

CAIRO – 12 May 2017: An exhibition of khayamiya work, decorative appliqué textile famously made in Egypt, is held at the Egyptian Cultural Center in London Friday-Sunday by Khayamiya.com.



Khayamiya.com is a group of tentmakers that seek to create public awareness of the hand-stitched art and the skills that have been passed on from father to son since the time of ancient Egypt, according to its Facebook page.



The exhibition “Stitch Like an Egyptian” in Mayfair London will demonstrate “needle turned appliqué” by Hosam Al Farouk and Ahmed Kamal.
