Cairo – 9 May 2017: Indian director Shekhar Kapur is set to direct a feature-length film dramatizing Bruce Lee’s life, according to Times of India. The film will be produced and co-written by Bruce Lee’s daughter Shannon Lee who stated the film will not only deal with her father’s persona as a martial artist but also would delve into his spiritual side concerning Buddhism and Taoism.

The movie will also dramatize the formative years of Bruce Lee in the 1950’s. "It offers a modern treatment of Bruce Lee’s, who is not only the most famous martial arts actor, but also a committed Zen-Buddhist," director Shekhar Kapur said.

The filmmakers are currently scouting for the actor to play the teenaged Bruce Lee.

Shannon Lee said that she had always wanted to make a film about the early years of her father's life in Hong Kong, to give people a deeper insight into the martial arts icon’s persona.
