CAIRO – 3 May 2017: The countdown to Ramadan and its many anticipated soap operas has begun; Egypt Today will give you a quick look into three upcoming top-drawer soapies.

1- Alahom Ma Eny Sayem

Alahomma Eni Sa’im (God knows that I’m fasting): A series starring Mostafa Shaaban, who has been starring in Ramadan’s soap operas for several years now, along with an ensemble cast of noted actors.

Acclaimed actress Magda Zaky is playing the female lead with Mai Nour el-Sherif, Wafaa Sadek, Reem Mostafa and Nada Moussa in supporting roles.

The series revolves around a man, Shaaban, pursued by the police after he diddled a large number of businessmen; as a conman, he must disguise himself as different characters, therefore, we expect Shaaban performing in different personas each episode.

The series is written by Ahmed Abdelfattah and directed by Akram Farid.


2- El-Hosan El-Eswed


El-Hosan El-Eswed (The Black Horse): A series starring illustrious actor Ahmed al-Sakka and a group of noted actors; the heroine of the series will be played by rising star Yasmine Sabry.

In the series, Sakka plays the character of a deceitful lawyer who practices unethical methods to mislead the judiciary to win his cases. After some episodes, the series will delve into psychodrama when it reveals that the lawyer’s character is afflicted with borderline schizophrenia (schizophrenia that's not yet full blown).
El-Hosan El-Eswed is written by Mohamed Soliman Abdelmalek and directed by Ahmed Khaled Moussa.



3- Kafr Delhab


Kafr Delhab (Delhab Village): A series that is a period piece depicting occultists and practitioners of black magic in the 17th century in Kafr Dlehab, Egypt.
The series is expected to be the first full-fledged horror show in the Middle East.
As recounted by the series principal player, megastar Youssef el-Sherif, the series will present a lot of surprises.

The actors co-starring with Sherif are noted actors Mohamed Riyad and Samy Maghawery; the female protagonist will be played by the famous Rogina.
The series is written by Amr Samir Atef and directed by Ahmed Nader Galal.
