CAIRO – 15 January 2018: Cairo Opera House has released a press statement announcing the opening of a general seminar on educational issues in Egypt to be held on Wednesday. This seminar is part of the cultural and intellectual program organized by the Cairo Opera House.

The seminar, titled “Education and Certification”, will be a discussion led by Mona Majdalani, the principal of the Garden City school Collège De La Mère De Dieu, as well as Reem Hafez, a French language professor at the University of Alexandria. Joining the discussion as a special guest is the Egyptian artist and actor Farouk Flowks, and Ghada el-Wakeel, former minister of the Immigration and Abroad Egyptian Sector, will be supervising the discussion.

The discussion will revolve around the issues of problems in education in Egypt, possible solutions, and the pressing issue of foreign teachers in the school industry in Egypt. These issues will be reflected with developmental and economic evidence in Egypt.

In 2018, the Cairo Opera House initiative will take a cultural and intellectual direction that addresses different issues and cases in the Egyptian context, and will feature thinkers and speakers from a variety of fields, to allow for the exposure of participants to the different perspectives and ideas present in Egypt.
