Alexandria’s Film Festival opens doors for young filmmakers

CAIRO -11 April 2017: Alexandria’s Film Festival is set to launch the fourth edition of its “Mamdouh Al-Lithy” competition targeting young Egyptian scriptwriters.

Scriptwriters under the age of 45 will be able to submit their work this month.
The competition, named after prominent Egyptian writer Mamdouh Al-Lithy, aims to integrate the perspective of Egyptian youth into the current cinematic scene to create a new vision.

Participants of the competition will receive an estimated EPG 30,000 , while the winning participant is set to receive an appreciation certificate from the judging committee.

In its 33rd edition, the Alexandria Film Festival, which is hosted by the Egyptian Writers’ Association and Egyptian film critics, is set to launch October 11.
