Oil painting workshop for beginners to be held at Darb 1718

CAIRO – 14 December 2017: Darb 1718 will be holding an oil painting workshop for beginners on Saturday, December 16, Thursday, December 21 and Tuesday, December 26.

The workshop will cover all the subjects necessary for a beginner to walk away with a basic understanding of oil painting, with topics such as composition, size and keeping the picture proportionate to the canvas, perspective, color theory and color mixing.

Art instructor Roshan el-Qurashi will teach the workshop. Born in Egypt and received a BFA in painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Qurashi teaches students of all levels and aims to empower their creative sense of self and their critical painting skills as well.

Participants are required to bring their own materials, including a canvas, painting oil, turpentine, flat brushes, a wooden palette and an oil dipper.
