CAIRO – 11 December 2017: Jordanian band Autostrad will be performing their second concert in Egypt after being absent for three years on Sunday as an inauguration of “3elbet Alwan” new location in Maadi.

Established in 2007, Autostrad produces music resonating from daily life in Jordan. The rock band focuses on romance, patriotism, and socioeconomic struggles in Jordanian society and the Arab region.

The band’s vocalist and bassist Demerjian----- has previously stated in an interview by the UAE-based newspaper The National that they’ll be able to be globally recognized once they have the freedom of expression through their music.

Portraying actual human struggles, the band’s lyrics gained popularity not only among youth in Jordan but also in many Arab regions. Autostrad has participated in Dubai’s Step 2017 conference and took the stage with many other Arab musicians such as the Lebanese Mashrou’ Leila, where they delivered certain messages related to the Arab youth struggles.

Through a tour to the Middle East, Autostorad band succeeded to first reach international stages in 2015 when the Arab British Center invited them to perform in London.
.
Jordan’s prominent underground band has previously led a concert at El Sawy Culture Wheel last Friday, marking their first concert in the country after three years of absence.
