The cast of “Qawaed Eleshq Al Arba’oun” play opened Thursday, December 6 at Masrah El-Salam and will continue until December 11 – Egypt Today

CAIRO – 8 December 2017: The play, “Qawaed Eleshq Al Arba’oun” (The Forty Rules of Love) was reopened for the second incarnation on Thursday, December 6 at Masrah El-Salam (Peace Theatre) and will continue its run until December 11.

The play’s plot line revolves around a 40-year old woman, Ella, who is in an unhappy marriage. As a reader for a literary agency, she becomes heavily engulfed by a book she is working on. Ella discovers the dynamic world of books, literature and poetry which ultimately changes her life.

The play stars Bahaa Tharwat, Ezzat Zain, and Amira Abou Zaid among others. Earlier this year, the play opened at Masrah El-Salam and made almost LE 2 million ($112,900). Based on the novel by Elif Shafak, the current adaptation of the play is directed by Adel Hassan.
