CAIRO – 26 November 2017: The Egyptian Theatrical Professions Syndicate, headed by Ashraf Zaki, honored veteran actress Sohair El Bably.

The syndicate honored Bably during the opening ceremony of the second edition of the Theatrical Professions Syndicate Festival. This year’s edition bears the slogan “The first experience”.

The syndicate screened a documentary about Bably’s career path in the opening ceremony. “The festival’s target is to send a message to all that Egypt is fine,” recounted Zaki.

In a statement on Saturday, Zaki also urged all artists to attend a press conference on Monday at the syndicate to overlook methods to combat terrorism. He further emphasized that all Egyptian artists will support the Egyptian state in any decision.

Bably was born on February 14, 1935 in Damietta. She graduated from the Institute of Theatrical Arts. She is considered one of the most important theatrical actresses in Egypt. Bably’s famous plays include “Al Dokhoul Belmalabes el Rasmya” (Entering with the Official Customs), “Attya El Erhabya” (Attya the Terrorist), and “Ala el Raseef” (On the Platform), among others. She paired with famous actress Esaad Yunis in the famous comic soap opera “Bakeeza and Zaghloul”, which is an important part of Egyptian drama history.
