CAIRO – 25 November 2017: Pakistani/British Film “Rahm” will be screened on November 25 at the Creativity Centre as part of the 39th Cairo International Film Festival’s screenings.

“Rahm” is a thriller film based on William Shakespeare’s play “Measure for Measure”. It revolves around the character of a fair governor who retires from his position after heart attack. He is replaced by another corrupted governor named Qazi Ahad.

The former governor disguised as one of their peers, watching all the injustice actions performed by Ahad. He stops Ahad at the right time, and establishes the true meaning of love, justice, and honesty.

“Rahm” stars Sanam Saeed, Sunil Shanker, Sajid Hasan, and Nayyar Ejaz among others.
The movie was written and produced by Mahmoud Jamal and directed by Ahmed Jamal.

Cairo Film Festival kicked off on November 21 and will continue running until November 30. The festival’s opening movie was the survival drama "The Mountain Between Us” starring Kate Winslet and Idris Elba, the film is directed by Academy Award nominee Hany Abu-Assad.

This drama adventure story follows two strangers who find themselves the survivors of a plane crash in the harsh wilderness of a snowy mountain. With rescue looking more and more unlikely, the pair must learn to work together. As they grow closer, a passionate bond begins to develop between them. "The Mountain Between Us" was released on October 6, 2017.

Abu-Assad is a Palestinian/Dutch filmmaker born in Israel, and is best known as the director of two Oscar-nominated films, 2005’s "Paradise Now" and 2013’s "Omar."
