CAIRO – 24 November 2017: On December 5, the Cairo Opera House will host a duet recital by two members of the Cairo Symphony Orchestra: the violinist Yasser el-Serafi and the harpist Mona Wassef.

Yasser el-Serafi is the First Violin Concertmaster of the Cairo Symphony Orchestra, leading the first violin section. He began studying violin in the Alexandria Conservatoire and continued his musical studies abroad in several esteemed institutions, as part of the Fulbright Egyptian Scholarship Program.

He has been awarded prizes for his solo violin performances, chamber music, conduction, and for music theory. El-Serafi has performed recitals and concerts all over the world.

Mona Wassef is one of two harpists at the Cairo Symphony Orchestra. Wassef studied music at the Cairo Conservatoire, from which she graduated with high honors.

She has performed solo concerts and orchestral performances in venues and cultural centers throughout Egypt. A celebrated harpist known for her refined style, Wassef performs music of both Western and Eastern traditions.
