10 theatrical performances against gender discrimination

CAIRO – 23 November 2017: The committee of Culture and Theater Against Discrimination, supervised by the Egyptian Feminist Union, selected 10 theatrical performances to take part in the Egyptian Feminist Union's theater festival in December.

Six theatrical performances were chosen from Minya Governorate; “Al Kotla Wi El Faragh” (Bulk and Emptiness), “Qalb Om” (Mother’s Heart), “13 Sabab” (13 Reasons), “2 ½,” “Khat” (The Line), and “Oghneya Ala El Mamar” (Song on the Line).

Three theatrical performances were selected from Alexandria; “Assal Wi Tehina” (Honey and Tahini), “Wahdy” (Alone) and “El Habl El Ahmar” (The Red Rope).

Only one theatrical performance was taken from Cairo, “Hebta.” The Culture and Theater Against Discriminations project was launched in May to fight different forms of discrimination whether based gender or religion. The event was organized by the Egyptian Feminist Union and the Ministry of Youth and Cairo University.
