CAIRO – 21 February 2017: The U.S. Embassy in Cairo is presenting the newest installment of American Music Abroad, “Al Hakawatya,” next Tuesday, Feb. 28 at the Citadel in Moqattam, as well as Mar. 3 at the Library of Alexandria.

American jazz musician Chelsey Green, along with her band the Green Project, will be making their first appearance in Egypt. The Green Project takes a contemporary approach to traditional jazz music, fusing various genres including R&B, pop, soul, alternative and hip-hop.

Also performing is Egyptian singer Dina El Wedidi, known for her reimagining of traditional Egyptian music mixed with indie and folk elements.

Both artists will present their own original work, as well as a fusion of their two unique styles, produced by Grammy-award-winner Fathy Salama. This fusion will be performed for the first time during the concert.

Doors for the show at the Citadel open at 6:00 p.m. and tickets are available through Ticketsmarche.com.
