Prominent Egyptian artists participate in WYF

CAIRO – 7 November 2017: The Egyptian mega-star comedian Mohamed Henedi is participating in the World Youth Forum (WYF) in Sharm El-Sheikh.

Famous Egyptian actress Bushra, who is also participating in the forum, said that she is happy to see all these Egyptian, Arab and international youth, in addition to a group of prominent intellectuals, participating in the World Youth Forum.

Veteran Egyptian actress Esaad Younis talked in the panel “How Can Literature and Arts Mend What Conflicts and Wars Destroy?” She stressed that creativity and art play an important role in raising the awareness of nations and revitalizing national ideas to address chaos caused mainly by extremism and terrorism. This discussion was attended by a group of foreign guests from France, the U.S. and Tunisia.

Famous Egyptian actor Tamer Hagrass will give a speech in the forum about how important it is for the government to listen to the views and opinions of young people. Hagrass will give his speech in both Arabic and English.The famous Egyptian actor and the current head of the Actor’s Syndicate Ashraf Zaki participates in the forum as well.

Rising Egyptian singer Mohamed Sharnouby represented Egyptian youth by participating in the forum’s opening song. Sharnouby sang alongside a group of young singers from different countries.

Famous Egyptian actor Ahmed Helmy and prominent Tunisian star Hend Sabry will also participate in the forum. Helmy will speak about his experience as a national ambassador in the United Nations supporting UNICEF’s work for children in Egypt and beyond. Sabry will share her experience as an UN ambassador against hunger.

The forum brings together 3,000 young people, represented by 60 delegations from around the world, to explore key issues facing their generation and determine their role in implementing global development goals and combating terrorism.

The idea of holding an international youth conference in Egypt was made during the third National Youth Conference in Ismailia, and was approved by Sisi. In July, the president announced organizing the WYF in Sharm El-Sheikh during the fourth National Youth Conference in Alexandria.

The seven-day gathering brought together official youth representatives over 18 years of age, leaders of various youth networks, heads of state, media personnel and around 250 young Egyptian expats. It is held under the theme "We Need to Talk". The WYF sends a message of peace, prosperity, harmony and love to the entire world. The WYF is considered a strong opportunity for youth globally to communicate with each other.
