CAIRO – 7 November 2017: Theatrical performance “A’elt El Sheikh Baraka” (Sheikh Baraka’s Family) will be displaying at Hosabeer Theater in downtown Cairo on November 15.

Written by Ahmed Hassan El Banna and directed by Mohamed Hassan Meka, the play is a political display revolving around a father who suggests to his family that they move to Wahat at their grandfather’s house after their house has been burnt down.

The father later suggests that his family should work with him in the farm at their grandfather’s house, when he actually aims to excavate antiquities and smuggle artifacts. Days later, the father escapes and leaves them all without food and water.

Despite the unfortunate sequence of events the family had to endure as a result of the father’s actions, the play’s director ends the performance with an unexpected twist.

“Sheikha Baraka’s Family” stars theater performers Adham Fathy, Ahmed Nabil, Bassem Hesham, Gehad Ghali, Hassan Gamal, Gehad Mohamed, and Hazem Manga. A musical segment is incorporated within the play led by Esraa Ghareeb and Nermeen Hassan.
