Poets contribute to new poem collection in UAE

CAIRO – 5 November 2017: A new Spanish collection of poems called “Legacy of Generations” has been released at the 36th round of Sharjah International Book Fair. The fair runs from November 1 until November 11.

Around 49 poets from around the world have participated in composing this collection, three of which are Arabs who contributed in issuing 300,000 copies of the poem compilation, according to a public statement.

One of the Arabs participating in this poem creation is Ali El Amery who stated that each poem composed by each of the 49 poets are being showcased alongside a Spanish translation.

He added that the language of poetry often works in gathering the entire world of audiences and other poets.

Approximately 1,691 publishing houses are participating in the 36th edition of International Sharjah Book Fair that kicked off on Wednesday. Together these publishing houses produce over 1.5 million books from 60 countries.

The book fair is hosting over 400 public figures from renowned novelists and owners such as Algerian novelist Wasiny El A’arag, Saudi Abdel Khal, Kuwaiti Soud El Sonou’sy, Iraqi novelist Sanan Antoine, and Syrian actor Ghasan Masoud.

UK is the guest of honor in this edition, which comes parallel to celebrating UAE-British ties through ceremonies conducted by the Supreme Council for British Culture.
