CAIRO – 1 November 2017: Stephen Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment Studio has recently won the rights to the speculative script for "Bios," a sci-fi drama starring Tom Hanks and set to begin production within 2018.

With “Game of Thrones” director Miguel Sapochnik attached, the project follows Tom Hanks as Finch, the last human on Earth. The reality of his aging begins to dawn on him, and he grows terrified as to what will happen to his beloved pet dog. Finch then constructs a robot that will take care of his pet, and the robot will come to learn what it means to be human.

Sapochnik earned an Emmy award for his “Game of Thrones” episode “Battle of the Bastards.”

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Spielberg stated that “'Bios' is an original, emotionally stirring tale that at its core is very much an Amblin movie. I can think of no one more perfect to embody this story about the meaning of being human than Tom Hanks."
