Arabic Music Festival to honor Abdel Halim Hafez

CAIRO - 30 October 2017: The upcoming 26th Arabic Music Festival will honor the memory of iconic Egyptian singer Abdel Halim Hafez on November 2. The festival runs from November 1 to November 15.

The festival’s second day will be dedicated to Hafez’s memory, according to a statement by the Cairo Opera House.

A group of singers and musicians such as Noha Hafez, Hanan Essam, and Hany Amer will perform Hafez’s songs and will cooperate with the band Mohamed Ismail El Mogy.

The Arab Music Heritage Ensemble will introduce many selections for old Egyptian singers including Hafez.

Palestinian star Mohammed Assaf will also perform as part of the three concerts on November 2 .

Damanhour Opera House will host a concert for Rehab Omar and it will be followed by a concert for Ahmed Saad. The musical night will be be brought to a close by the legendary Egyptian singer Mohamed El Helw.

The 26th Arab Music Festival will feature 84 Arabic musicians who will partake in the festival, which is dedicated to honoring the iconic singer, Mohsen Farouk, running between November 1 and November 15.

Eight Arabic countries will lead performances in six theaters including the Cairo Opera House, Arabic Music Institute, Alexandria Opera House, and Damanhour Opera House.

The musicians and singers participating in this edition include Medhat Saleh, Mohamed El Helw, Ali El Haggar, Nadia Mostafa, Lotfi Bushnaq, Abdallah Al Rowaished, Mohamed Tharwat, Hany Shaker and Safwan Bahlawan among others.
