5 minutes with painter Mariam Galal

CAIRO – 30 October 2017: A young talented artist exposes her passion through jewelry design and painting. After shifting from the business field to being a full time artist, she managed to develop her artistic tools and style, and participated in several exhibitions.
Mariam Galal speaks with Egypt Today about her passion and artworks.

et: Most of your feminine artworks are dedicated to Egyptian or African females; why did you choose females to be your main topic?

MG: Actually, I am not focusing on females only, I just choose what I feel and try to take different subjects until I stick to a certain style of mine.

et: Where does your inspiration come from?

MG: Mainly, my inspiration comes from my Egyptian culture first.

et: In your point of view, what are the qualifications of a good artist?

MG: I think a real artist should be talented, cultured, persistent and passionate.

et: How do you see the artistic scene in Egypt?

MG: From my point of view, I see the artistic scene as very active and enriching.

et: What are your future plans?

MG: I want to read more in art history and get more engaged in exhibitions.
