CAIRO – 29 October 2017: Bedouin band El-Jerken will perform a unique selection of its oriental music using Bedouin tools at the third edition of the Wanas Festival that will launch on November 10 at the Greek Campus and will run for three consecutive days.

Established in 2003, El-Jerken has also launched a folkloric-oriented venue called El-Mastaba that is considered a platform for Bedouins, people of Sinai, storytellers, and Ibn Arabi Sinawi band.

El-Jerken has been named after the tools they use to produce music including the boxes used as percussion instruments that were first disposed in the war of 1967, according to the event’s official page.

The band’s folkloric music is inspired from that of Lebanon, Palestine, Jordan, and Syria. They have also participated in a number of western festivals.
