CAIRO – 28 October 2017: The dreamlike psychological Portuguese drama film “Horse Money (2014)” will be screening twice at Cimatheque, the alternative film center. The first screening will take place on October 31 and the second on November 4.

The first narrative film from director Pedro Costa in nine years, “Horse Money” is a visually striking, dreamlike journey into the mind of Ventura, an old Cape Verdean immigrant living in Lisbon. Something of a sequel to the director’s earlier film, Colossal Youth (2006), the film follows the same character Ventura, who portrays himself, as he travels through his deteriorating memory and must come to terms with the fact that both his body and mind are falling apart.

Time is fluid and non-linear in “Horse Money,” as Ventura shifts from his present in a mental hospital to the 70’s, at the height of the Portuguese Carnation Revolution.
