Egyptian film directors to be honored at Panorama European Film

CAIRO – 25 October 2017: Three major Egyptian film directors will be honored in the

10th edition of Panorama European film

that will run from November 8 to November 18.

The renowned directors Ali Badrakhan, Kamla Abu Zekry, and Tamer El Saeed have presented themselves to be part of the Cinematic Icons segment. Each film director will screen and discus one of their cinematic works that has affected their artistic career path, according to a released statement.

This segment has recently been added in the seventh edition of the festival and has witnessed great popularity and attracted several audiences.

The Panorama European Film is an annual event that has been established by an Egyptian film company named after renowned film director Youssef Shaheen. The annual festival is being organized by Cinema Zawya and will host over 50 European films ranging from features to documentary films.

The festival’s film screenings will be launched in various governorates including Cairo, Alexandria, Ismailia, Portsaid, Damietta, Mansoura, El Minya, Qena, Zagazig, and Assiut.

The 10th edition will be carried out in partnership with the European Union, British Council, French Institution, Irish Embassy, Goethe Institute, Italian Institution, Lycee French School, Spanish Embassy, Embassy of Finland, Embassy of Netherlands, Portuguese Embassy, and the Swedish Embassy.
