CAIRO – 24 October 2017: The Kuwaiti movie “Serb Hamam” (Pigeon Squadron) will showcase in the 39th edition of Cairo International Film Festival. The film’s cast announced that they will hold a press conference at the end of October to announce all the film’s details.

The movie stars famous Kuwaiti comedian Dawoud Hussein along with Gamal el-Radhan, and Abdelnasser el-Zayer among others. “Serb Hamam,” directed by Ramadan Khasroh, is the first non-comedy movie for Hussein as it tackles a number of human values and national concepts.

The Cairo International Film Festival management also chose to screen the American movie “Mountain Between Us” in the opening ceremony of the festival. The festival will kick off on November 21.

The movie stars the famous American actress Kate Winslet, who won an Oscar for Best Actress for her role in "The Reader" in 2008. She has also been nominated five times for an Oscar, including for her role in "Titanic." The movie also stars well-known English actor and musician Idris Elba, who won a Golden Globe for Best Actor for his role in “Mandela: The Long Walk to Freedom,” in which he played the role of South African leader and activist Nelson Mandela. The film was directed by Palestinian director Hany Abu-Assad.

Head of the festival Magda Wassef invited Winslet and Elba to attend the festival, which is considered one of the 15 most important international film festivals in the world.
