CAIRO – 17 October 2017: Famous Egyptian-based band "Les Petits Chats" will be carrying out a flashback performance featuring an array of classical music from the 1970s on October 20 at the Cairo Opera House.

The old band is comprised of vocalists Sobhy Bedeer and Sadek Keleeny, Ezzat Abu Ouf on keyboard, Pino Fares on guitar, and new members including maestro Nayer Nagui, and Deyaa Badr on base, according to a statement by the Cairo Opera House.

"Les Petits Chats" is expected to perform English and French songs, dating back to the 70s and 80s such as Sway and California Dream among others.

Established in 1967, "Les Petits Chats" was founded by the late Wagdy Francis, aiming to produce covers of popular songs from different parts of the world. The band stopped performing but came back again to the stage in 2010.

They were incredibly popular among audiences and were considered a sign of modern Egyptian pop culture during the 1970s. They were sometimes nicknamed "the Egyptian Beatles."
