CAIRO – 16 October 2017: Minister of Culture Helmy Al-Namnam signed the cooperation protocol between the General Organization of Books, the National Organization for Urban Harmony and the Cultural Development Fund to implement the "Story of a Place" project on Sunday.

This protocol is between three sectors of the Ministry of Culture, which are interested in heritage, said Al-Namnam, referring that the project will achieve a kind of cooperation between three sectors.

This project aims to safeguard the oral heritage of Egypt that tells the history of buildings, prominent characters and important events, said Al-Namnam.

It also preserves the memory of the nation and the humanitarian part of Egypt’s heritage, besides helping researchers and those who are interested in heritage to know more about the country’s history, he added.

The National Organization for Urban Harmony preserves buildings of architectural heritage in Cairo and all governorates of the republic, while the Cultural Development Fund safeguards the traditional handicrafts. The General Organization of Books and National Documents preserves Egypt's written history.
