CAIRO – 11 October 2017: Tunisian-Algerian film ‘’Augstine Ebn Demoaha’’ (Augustine: Son of her Tears) by the veteran Egyptian director Samir Seif screened as part of the events of the Alexandria International Film Festival for Mediterranean countries.

‘’Augstine Ebn Demoaha’’ revolves around the historical character of Augustine and his impact on the western world, specifically on the Roman society. The film presents the life events of the religious philosopher and professor Augustine. His mother's tears, Monica, succeeded in saving her son from committing the sin of embracing extremist doctrines, which was not easy for Monica at the beginning. Monica she continued praying and crying till Augustine returned to faith.


A seminar discussing the movie took place after the screening led by the great cinema critic Magda Moris, and was attended by movie producers Emad Dabour and Abdel Aziz ben Maloka, Samir Seif, the movie scriptwriter Sameh Samy, and some of the movie’s actors.
