CAIRO – 8 October 2017: El Gezira Art will be launching a short film screening about Dutch artist Rembrandt Harmenszoon called “The Real Rembrandt,” led by artist Abo Bakr El Nawawy on Thursday.

The free-entry event will be led by fine artist El Nawawy, who has participated in local and international festivals over decades, according to his official fan page.

The artist has also won several local awards, including the Drawing and Photography Award in 1974, the Drawing Award in 1976, and the Photography award in 1982.

He is a firm believer that art is a real connection between creativity and actual life rather than using real colors and artistic materials. Art is a form of dialogue, he confirms, according to his official fan page.

Rembrandt was a Dutch painter and printmaker and a prominent visual artist in Dutch art history. His works portray range from self-portraits, landscapes, historical scenes to genre scenes.

The painter’s works also feature biblical and mythological themes contributed in productions that came mostly in a period called the Dutch Golden Age.
