CAIRO – 3 October 2017: Cairo Opera House will organise a big celebration presented by Abdel Halim Noireh Ensemble for Arab Music, with the participation of the children's choir on Thursday, October 5 at 8 p.m., in the Main Hall theatre.

The celebration will include a number of national songs that have contributed to the formation of Egyptians’ and Arabs’ awareness.

The celebration will begin with a musical panorama entitled, "The Road to October," prepared and distributed by Ahmed al-Tawil. It includes a collection of the most famous songs presented in the Egyptian TV drama and cinema in commemoration of October’s victory. Then, the choir will sing “Ash elly ‘Aal” (Long Live the One Who Said), while Ahmed Effat will sing “Al-Bondokia” (The Gun), and Amira Ahmed will sing “Om al-Batal” (The Hero’s Mother).

The program of the celebration will be as follows:
• The children’s choir will accompany the child Rawda Essam in singing, “Law Sa'altak Enta Masry?” (If I Asked You if You Were Egyptian?)
• Ahmed Mohsen will sing “Nasheed al-Horeya” (Freedom Anthem)
• Mustafa Najdi will sing “Bnhebek Ya Ghalia” (We Love You Dear)
• Walid Haidar and Mustafa al-Najdi will perform a duet for “Balady” (My Country)

The opera’s massive celebration will end with the great memorable musical Operetta “Watany al-Akbar” (My Great Homeland), which will be performed by all participant singers. “Watany al-Akbar” was composed by the Musician of Generations, the great Mohamed Abdel Wahab, and written by the great late poet Ahmed Shafik Kamel.

The October war between Israel and a coalition of Arab states led by Egypt and Syria started with a sudden attack on Israeli positions on Yom Kippur, on October 6, 1973.
