CAIRO – 30 September 2017: The head of the Egyptian National Library, Ahmed El Toshky, inaugurated the Egyptian booth on Thursday at the fifth Azerbaijan Book Fair that took place at the Palace of the Shirvanshahs in the city of Baku, according to a press release by the Egyptian Culture Ministry.

The Egyptian booth included a collection of archived documents, such as “Contributions of Civilization in Chemistry” presented in Arabic and English, along with other rare collections about “Soltan Hassan Mosque”, Arab papyrus, the Suez Canal, religious manuscripts, and a biography about the Egyptian National Library.

A collection of CDs about ancient Egypt were also displayed in the booth, showcasing an array of Egyptian museums and antiquities.

The fifth Azerbaijan Book Fair features Egypt as the only Arab country participating in this edition.

The Egyptian National Library and the Azerbaijani Manuscripts Institution announced at end of last a week a collaboration between both entities to complete the collection of archives in the Egyptian library through newly derived archived manuscripts from Azerbaijan.
