‘Shokah we Sekina’ wins first prize at Tayarah Workshop

CAIRO – 26 September 2017: Director Adam Abdel Ghafar‘s script "Shokah we Sekina" (Fork and Knife) has won the first prize at the Tayarah Short Film Workshop at El Gouna Film Festival, according to a statement released by El Gouna Film Festival.

The workshop was held as part of El Gouna Film Festival’s CineGouna platform, which aims to support up-and-coming filmmakers. The first prize winning script will be made into a short film, which will be distributed by Tayarah online in 2018.

Amongst runner-up scripts that won were Khaled Khellah’s "Outrage Behavior," which won the second place award of 10,000 EGP ($566) and Youssef Nasser’s "Cinderella" which won 5,000 EGP ($283).

The Tayarah Jury panel consisted of Tunisian actress Hend Sabry, Egyptian director

Amr Salama

, scriptwriter Tamer Habib, Tayarah's Managing Director Mohamed al-Bassiouni, Indian director Mridu Chandra, and Vodafone Egypt’s Head of Products and Services Yosr Taher.
