CAIRO – 24 September 2017: Leonoardo DiCaprio's documentary film, "Before the Flood," will screen on Thursday, September 28, at the cultural center Dawar where Khoyout Troupe will perform a playback theatre after the film discussion.

Directed by the Oscar-winning Fisher Stevens, and produced by Leonardo DiCaprio, the documentary film was produced by National Geographic on October 30, 2016 at the United States.

It focuses on the dramatic changes occurring all over the world due to climate changes such as rising sea levels, floods and violent tornadoes and the possible solutions to mitigating environmental damage.

The film won the Hollywood Film Award and Hollywood Music in Media Award in 2016, it was also nominated for the Critics Choice Documentary Award, Golden Reel Award in Motion Picture Sound Editors in 2017 and Best Sound Design in International Music and Sound Awards.

The movie also occupied the third place of People's Choice Award in Toronto International Film Festival in 2016.

To produce this film, DiCaprio, designated United Nations Messenger of Peace, visited many places affected by climate change.

Khoyout Troupe was established in October 2016, and it focuses on Playback Theatre which is an improvisational form of theatre based on true stories from the audience.
