CAIRO – 20 September 2017: Bollywood actor Salman Khan was honored with the Global Diversity Award at Britain’s House of Commons on Friday, September 15.

The actor received the award from Keith Vaz, the British Parliament’s longest running Asian member, who praised Khan’s humanitarian efforts and his acting career. Khan visited Britain as part of his Da-Bang tour. Apart from his acting career, which features him in Bollywood hits such as 2010’s “Dabangg” and 2016’s “Sultan,” Khan is also the owner of the Being Human NGO founded in 2007; working to further education and healthcare for the underprivileged.

Despite this, Khan has been embroiled in controversy in the past, such as being charged for a hit-and-run case where he ran over several people sleeping in a street back in 2002, which he went on trial for in 2013. Still, Khan has managed to maintain his reputation as a humanitarian and one of Bollywood’s biggest stars.
