Theater Production grant winners announced

CAIRO - 19 September 2017: Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) Arts Center announced the winners for the 2017-2018 Theater Production grant in a press release on September 13.

After receiving 23 submissions, 20 of which were eligible, the selection committee consisting of professor of theatre at the Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts Samy Abdel Halim, critic Ahmed Khamees, and director Tamer Karam choose three winners.

In first place, came: “Alrajol Aalthy Walmar’a Altay” (The Man Who and the Woman That) written by Sameh Othman, directed by Sameh, and performed by Bedaya Group. In second place: “The Children of Anger and Love” written by Karam al-Naggar, directed by Mohamed Mekki, and performed by The Dream Theater Troupe, and in third place: “Barbed Wire” written by Sameh Othman, directed by Mohamed Taya, and performed by Mutiny Group.
