CAIRO – 18 September 2017: Actress Jamie Lee Curtis will return to the cult-classic horror movie franchise, “Halloween,” one last time for its upcoming 2018 reboot.

Universal Pictures confirmed that this will be the “final” film in the horror movie reboot, and is slated for an October 19, 2018 release, according to Variety. Curtis will be reprising her debut role as Laurie Strode, survivor of serial killer Michael Myers, who debuted 40 years ago in 1978’s “Halloween.”

The franchise’s original director, John Carpenter, is a producer for the 2018 installment, with David Gordon Green set to direct instead. Carpenter is on-board as producer and creative consultant, though nothing else is known of the film. The film is also set to be produced by Jason Blum, who is known for producing the “Paranormal Activity” franchise and 2017’s “Get Out.”

Curtis’ last appearance in the franchise was in 2002’s “Halloween: Resurrection,” where she was killed off, suggesting the 2018 movie is not a direct sequel and will follow its own events.
