University theater performers conclude first week of screening

Cairo – September 15 2017: The third edition of “University Performers of Theater” concluded the first week of theater screenings from Cairo, Helwan and Ain Shams universities, the Cultural Development Fund stated on Friday.

The judge committee includes theater critic at Al Ahram, Bassem Sadek; a journalist from Roz al Youssef, Hend salama; and a journalist and theater critic at Al Ahram Hebdo, Mona Fadl.

There were 16 performances all in all, including Al Kafas (The Cage), directed by Akram Emad; Youm Min Zamana (A day From Our Age) for Mohamed Abdel Sattar; Al Warda Wal Tag (The Flower and the Crown) for Mohamed Samir; and Sett Shakhsyat Tabhas ‘An Mo’alef (Six Characters in Search of an Author) for Nada Nasser.

The next week will see the screening of other plays from the universities of Al Mansoura, Al Fayoum, Kafr Al Sheikh, Asyout, Sinai and Suez Canal.
