Theater Clubs Festival initiates with ‘Mawal El Wagaa’ play

CAIRO - 10 September 2017: Poet Ashraf Amer Head of the General Authority for Culture Palaces, to inaugurate the final activities for “Theater Clubs” festival in its 26th round.

Out of his keenness to activate the role of the Egyptian theater throughout the Republic, Amer will inaugurate the final activities for the festival of theater clubs in its 26th round. Theaters general administration organized the festival to take place within the period from September 10-22.

The festival activities will initiate by a play titled “Mawaal El Wagaa” (Pain Ballad) will be shown on stage of El Samer Theater in Minya governorate cultural theater, which affiliates to Upper Egypt Cultural Region on Sunday September 11 at 7:00 p.m.

Directed by Ghareeb Mostafa, the play presents a new perspective for the Egyptian old renowned love story for the couple “Hassan and Naeema.” The performance came as a compilation for a number of the Egyptian Folklore stories like “Adham El Sharkawy,” “Shafiqa we Metwally” and others. The director thought that the performance is very similar to street shows. It was further accompanied by the melodies of specially made music harmonizes with the theme of the performance.
