CAIRO – 7 September 2017: September 7 marks the day that famous rapper Tupac Shakur was shot on 1996 in Las Vegas, eventually succumbing to his wounds while in hospital and dying on September 13.

The facts of the incident follow that Shakur was with Death Row Record's Marion “Suge” Knight in a black BMW when a white car opened fire on them, grazing Knight while fatally wounding Shakur. Earlier that day, the pair along with Surge's gang had beaten up LA gang member Orlando Anderson, showing that it is a possibility that the shooting was a retaliation by Anderson's gang.

Shakur's death has become the topic of numerous conspiracy theories and urban legends, including that the rapper faked his death and still lives under cover. Another popular theory is the idea that Shakur's rival 'Biggie Smalls' had orchestrated the death.

Though still unproved, these out-there theories are a way of keeping Shakur's memory alive long after his passing, and have helped to give him a truly larger-than-life figure.
