CAIRO – 6 September 2017: Bibliotheca Alexandria Orchestra will be inaugurating the new opening season concert conducted by Egyptian maestro Hisham Gabr, at Bibliotheca Alexandria (BA) Arts Center on September 16.

The orchestra will play several classical music compositions including “Overture to L'Italiana in Algeri” by Gioachino Rossini, “Variations on a Theme” by Haydn, “Op.56, Intermission” by Johannes Brahms and “Symphony No. 5 in B-flat major,” and works by Franz Schubert.

Hisham Gabr is one of the iconic Egyptian musicians, who composed music symphonies for more than 30 theatrical performances for Egyptian and foreigner troupes.

He composed a symphony called “New World” [Aa’lam Gedeed], and has dedicated great effort in producing a musical performance called “Praxa”.

Gabr has established Cairo ensemble for Chamber Music in 2006, and has began directing BA Arts Center from 2014 to 2017.
