CAIRO – 2 September 2017: ‘The Dreams and Fears of Ten Women from Helwan’ will be showing at Dawar on September 16.

The show is a documentary about the struggles that the women of Helwan go through on their daily lives.

The performance is the result of a three-months’ storytelling workshop that was organized by Bussy Project in collaboration with the Egyptian Association for Economic and Social Right (EAESR), and Drosos foundation.

The performance will examine social stigma that revolves around women at work to provide for their families.

Bussy Project is a performing arts project that voices stories about gender differences in the Egyptian community. They organize workshops and host performances that discuss harassment, rape, gender discrimination, honor killing, forced marriage, female genital mutilation, motherhood, domestic violence, child abuse, and mass sexual assaults from different communities in Egypt.
