CAIRO – 29 August 2017: DA HOUSE art club in Dokki, Giza will be hosting a 'Violin Night' featuring Egyptian violinist Mohamed Sami on Wednesday, September 6. Tickets will cost LE 50 ($2.83) and the event will run for one night from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The 'Violin Night' will be a solo concert by Sami that shows off his album ‘From Far Away.’ Sami is an accomplished musician, who graduated from the Higher Institute of Arabic Music in 2002, and has since gone on to perform abroad with numerous teams of musicians in Egypt, the Arab world and around the world.

Amongst the Egyptian musicians he collaborated with were Fathi Salama, Ali Khattab, Mohamed Bashir, and some of the international names he has played with are Biorn Meyer from Switzerland, Italy's Moricio Lazaro and Fredrik Gill from Sweden.

This event aims to clear up inaccurate knowledge of Egyptian music by the usage of classical techniques, along with exploring the possibilities and potential that the violin holds as an instrument.
