Patriotic songs performed in closing of Citadel Festival

CAIRO – 29 August 2017: The Minister of Culture Helmy al-Namnam and the President of Cairo Opera House Enas Abdel Dayem have attended the closing ceremony of the 26th Citadel festival for Music and Singing on Saturday, August 26.

The Egyptian marimba star Nesma Abdel Aziz has presented lots of Arabic and foreign music that has been redistributed to suit the marimba instrument alongside the singer Medhat Saleh who sang his top hits and patriotic songs.

Around 75,000 have attended the 29 concerts of the 15-day-festival.
The Salah El Din Citadel Festival organized by Cairo Opera House has been showcasing multi-disciplinary performances from August 12 to August 25.

The Festival also featured classical performances by Rola Zaki and Amr Yehia and was conducted by Mohamed Saad Basha, alongside music by Nesma Abdel Aziz, Tunisian artists Ghalia bin Ali and Mohamed Mohsen, and renowned Egyptian singer Medhat Saleh, among others.
