CAIRO – 24 August 2017: Two of the prominent underground bands Arabish and MTM will perform together at El Sawy Culture Wheel on September 8.

Arabish was formed in 2015 by Wael Nasr, and plays Arabic pop rock music.

Reflecting the soul of youth and their issues in the music is the main theme of the band.

Its first album, ‘Today I woke up’ (El Nharda Seheet Men El Noom) talked about what women face in Arabic society.

Arabish is consisted of Wael Nasr on guitars and other instruments, Zeina Elshazly, Habiba Zahran, and Omar Elfarouk with vocals.

MTM is one of the early underground bands in Egypt who introduce a new kind of music in late 90s.

The name, MTM, was connected with the late 90s and 2000 generations with its hit ‘My Mom is Travelling’ (Omy Mesafrah).

After years of absence, MTM managed to make a strong comeback with the release of ‘Horoob Edterary’ song.

‘Horob Edterary’ was the official theme song of the movie, ‘Horob Edterary’.

MTM’s name is taken from the band members' initials: Mikey, Takki, and Mahmoud.

As it's posted on the event’s official Facebook page, Arabish will open the concert, then MTM will perform a number of their old and new songs, and both bands will close the event with a joint performance.
